概 述

《大都市Metropolis》杂志创刊于1998年,由中国出版集团13家核心成员之一的上海东方出版中心出版发行。其下半月刊(男士版)于2000年9月创立,《大都市Metropolis》杂志(男士版)面向都市中正在崛起的新生势力——中国新绅士,是一本以男性视角关注都市生活、格调、商务的精品月刊。
《大都市Metropolis》杂志(男士版)以满足读者需求为己任,以专题、名人采访、男人风、女人香、格调、玩家等主要板块贯穿杂志,全方位地向都市男性传递最新生活格调商务信息,诠释现代生活理念和时尚品位,倡导优雅的生活方式和积极的生活态度。

每月初出版发行。国际流行大16开本,封面250g进口铜版纸,内页105g进口铜版纸,全彩精印。

An Introduction to Metropolis Magazine for Men

General introduction
Founded in 1998, Metropolis Magazine is published and issued by Shanghai Orient Publishing Center, one of the 13 core members of China Publishing Group. Metropolis Magazine Men’s Edition was founded in September 2000, and it is a men’s lifestyle magazine targeting China’s middle and upper business echelons. The focus of the Magazine is on “Life, Style & Business ’’ from a man’s angle.
Metropolis Magazine for Men offers a variety of well recognized columns under the headings of ‘‘Feature’’, “Topic”, “Focus”, “Celeb Bar”, “Men’s Trend”, “Scent of Women” and  “Fashion”. It provides the latest business and lifestyle information to the rising new class of city gentlemen.

Publication form
The magazine is published on the first day of each month. Internationally accepted 16k magazine with 250g imported copperplate paper for the covers, 105g imported copperplate paper for inside pages, all color pages.

Readership orientation
Our targeted readers are men between the age of 28 to 35. They are well educated and have good jobs, they are open minded, creative and prepared to accept new ideas, they pursue their own lifestyle and attach great importance to the quality of their lives and lifestyle. They are opinion-makers, trendsetters and pillars of the city’s business community and social life.

Self promotions
The magazine has launched many promotions to reinforce its own brand image as an elite magazine. In the past years, it has successfully collaborated with some renowned brands in hosting large events that include Hennessy Metropolis Night and Shimao Riviera Metropolis Night. Promotional approaches include illuminated ads at metro stations in Shanghai and Beijing and in the departure halls of Beijing Capital Airport, Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao International Airport. The magazine also reaches to a wide audience through promotions on radio and in magazines, newspapers and websites.

Circulation
The magazine enjoys a stable average monthly circulation of 290,000 copies. The distribution network thoroughly covers the three core cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, radiating outwards to a dozen of economically and culturally developed cities in the Northeast, Northwest and Southwest.

Conventional channels
The distribution network covers newsstands, post offices, bookstores, airports, convenience chain stores, international hotels cross the country, as well as the newsstands along the metro lines of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.


Special channels
The magazine has various distribution channels in major cities across China. It  is a designated magazine in the rooms of a number of five-star hotels in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Xiamen, Sanya and Zhengzhou. The hotels include Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai, Hilton Shanghai, The St. Regis Shanghai, The Westin Shanghai, InterContinental Pudong Shanghai, Grand Pacific Suites Shanghai, Hong Qiao State Guest Hotel, Hotel Kunlun Beijing, Kerry Centre Hotel Beijing, The Garden Hotel Guangzhou, Sunshine Hotel Shenzhen, The Landmark Hotel Shenzhen, Nan Hai Hotel Shenzhen, Sheraton Sanya Resort, InterContinental Shenyang, Xiamen International Seaside Hotel and Sofitel Zhengzhou. It is also an in-flight magazine on a number of international airlines such as KLM, Air France, Singapore Airlines, Swiss International Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Dragonair and Emirates Airlines.
